Starting Point

I got one last layout in for the week using Angie's starting point challenge. I wanted to get the rest of the challenges done, but there just aren;t enough hours in the day! Finally used some of those deer stickers my kids are always making me buy, even though there weren't any bucks in the pictures!

Book page challenge

I have been wanting to do this page of Cody's bedtime prayers for a long time, and I finally was inspired by this challenge to use a page from the Bible on it. I couldn't bring myself to tear a page out, though, even from an old Bible, so I scanned it and printed it twice on tan cardstock, then I cut out Phillipians 4:6 and popped it up on the page. Thanks for checking it out!

Office supplies

I tried my hand at sewing on this layout, then I used a paper clip with a charm, some grid paper, a little delivery stamp and some staples, to go with the office supply theme. I painted behind the pictures with white shimmer, though it is hard to see in the picture. I don't usually use too many bumpy things on my pages, but these little flowers were perfect! Thanks!

Number challenge

Been trying to upload this all day, but Century Link has had other ideas, so I played outside with the kids, did my Sunday School homework, scrubbed my kitchen floor and did another layout. Finally, my internet is back online, so here is my number challenge entry-pretty straightforward. My son turned 5 this summer! Unbelievable how the time has flown by. He is really turning into a little man. Thanks for looking!

Sweet Peach back to school crop sketch

The new sketch challenge over at Sweet Peach was really inspiring. I used my new twine again and some new journalling tags. Hoping to get lots more done this week!

Sweet Peach Sketch

I got some scrappin' in last night, and I was so excited to use my new twine that I picked up at Grove's while Sarah was at her first day of preschool and my new thickers that I ordered from ScrapZoom. I usually follow a sketch pretty literally, but I took a little liberty with this one. I had that silhouette rubon from a long ago Sweet Peach kit and I never knew what to do with it. Well, when I went to put it on the page, it ripped! So, I put it along the edge, and I think it turned out OK. The paper is from a DCWV stack I have probably had for 10 years!!! I loved the little rip at the top corner of the sketch, I will have to try that again sometime!

Thursday challenge

I have been in a scrappin groove this week. My oldest started kindergarten and everyone has been going to bed a lot earlier, so I have a little time in the evenings. I think I have only one more Christmas page to do and I will be caught up in all 3 albums! Sorry for the blurry pic. My camera died while we were on vacation, and I haven't made a decision about a new one yet, so I am using my very old 4mp camera! I was so inspired by Angie's mesh look that I peeled of the backing from some mesh I bought about 10 years ago at Oriental Trading I think, and used it as a mask for my mist. I tried to drip it on the top part, but it doesn't look as drippy as I was hoping. Thanks for looking!

July sketch

Thought I was going to get a lot of pages done this week with my hubby working nights, but I spent so much time out in the sun with the kiddos during the day so that DH could sleep, I was totally exhausted every evening! I finished this today while the baby was napping. What a fun sketch! Can't wait to see some more from Keri over at Sweet Peach!

Holey cow!

Wow! It has been a long time since I have done a challenge page. As soon as I saw Angie's challenge to distress holes into the paper, I knew which pictures I was going to use. I did this page of Mike's turkey and tried to make the holes look like the shotgun pattern, and while it may not be totally accurate, I think it looks pretty cute! Thanks for the inspiration, Sweet Peach!

Ink and Paint

One of the challenges over at Sweet Peach Crop Shop last week was to use ink, mist or paint in a different way. I did one of my wedding layouts with ink this way, but this time I decided to use paint. Cody is always riding his 4-wheeler through the mud, so I squirted down some paint and then ran one of his little trucks through it to recreate the look of mud. I also put some splatters around the title and spread them out with the pointy end of my paint brush. Thanks for the challenge!

last anniversary sketch

This is the last of the special anniversary sketches this month over at Sweet Peach Crop Shop. The banners made me think of the races, and I thought I better get last year's race page done before this year's season starts! I was still in the doodle-ing mood, so I mimicked the tires on my accents and journalled with my favorite white pen. Can't wait to take Wyatt to the races this year, too!

Doodle-I-do

The Thursday challenge over at Sweet Peach Crop Shop is to doodle on your layout. It seems like every time I doodle, I reach for my gel pens and doodle on dark paper. On this layout, I used different colors to mimic the look of chalk on my photo frames and title letters. Fun challenge!

Baby pic challenge

I have been wanting to scrap these pics of me for some time. Every since Wyatt was born, people have been saying he looks like Cody, but I always thought he looked more like Sarah. Then my mom and I were looking through some old pictures and guess what? I think he looks like me! No matter what, he is pretty darn cute, but I want him to be able to see this connection someday! Oh, and this is for another challenge over at Sweet Peach to use baby pics and hand journal- I used my new sweet kit, too!

sketch challenge 3

This is the 3rd Anniversary sketch over at Sweet Peach Crop Shop. I have been wanting to scrap this pic for a while. Yay! Finally got it done. It is the only pic I have of Cody going to preschool and it is going to be over in a few short weeks!

sketch challenge 2

Got lots done last night! Here is my page for Sweet Peach Crop Shop's 2nd Anniversary sketch challenge. I used the buttons from this month's sweet kit and the thickers that I won the first week of their celebration! The patterned paper was a score yesterday at my LSS in the clearance rack for 10cents! This is the third time I have scrapped this pic (one for each kid's album) and they all turned out so different!

Scene challenge

It was so beautiful outside yesterday, we were out for hours and the kids were all worn out and went to bed an hour earlier, which meant.....some scrap time for mommy! These pics were from the warm spell in the fall, but I can't wait to scrap the swing pics I took yesterday, too! These poor kids are going to need a uhaul to take their albums with them when they leave home!

"Sweet" challenge

Sara's challenge over at Sweet Peach Crop Shop is to use the word "sweet" in your title. I was working on Wyatt's thanksgiving page and I soooo love his "sour" face. He is definitely sweet! I am really loving those Jillibean soup alphas too. Gotta love a layout with 8 pics on it, too!

Try it Thursday challenge

The Thursday challenge over at Sweet Peach Crop Shop was to create a page with a frame. I did this page for Cody's album of my 3 fave guys. Wyatt was just starting to be want to hang out with "the boys" and Cody was loving it! He loves his baby brother sooooo much! I used some MME Laundry Line, so boyish...and I made my frame out of wood grain paper and fastened it together with screw-top brads. Thanks for the inspiration!

Packaging challenge

Yesterday's challenge by Julie over at Sweet Peach Crop Shop was to use packaging on your LO. I struggle with this a little, and I had already used all my cute packaging on other layouts, so I was looking through my bag of stuff and flipping everything over to check out the possibilities. I finally found 2 packs of metallic alphas from Making Memories that were on this backing that had a cute design on the edge. I used one for the title and journalling, and the other is behind the main photo, though I had to split it because it was a little bit too short! 21 more pages to go until I am caught up to Christmas!!!

sketch challenge

The new sketch challenge over at Sweet Peach Crop Shop had a big circle on it, and as I was mulling over which photos to use, I decided to create a big sunshine! Initially I was going to staple ribbon to a paper circle, then I remembered this giant chipboard circle and I painted it with a Jenni Bowlin paint dauber and glued the ribbon fast. Gotta get some pages done fast, cuz my DH is getting irritated at the giant scrappy mess in the den!

Ribbon Challenge

So much fun going on over at Sweet Peach Crop Shop for their anniversary with all kinds of prizes.....Angie's challenge is to use 3 ribbons on a layout. I used 4 different ribbons on this layout, PLUS 2 different paper ribbons. I inked the narrow ribbon under the big picture (it was white). I loved the texture on this otherwise simple layout.

Brand new blog

Seems like I am putting a lot of scrappin' stuff on my regular blog, which I mainly use to show pics of my kids to my favorite people, so I decided to start a new blog just for all things scrappy. Enjoy!
